Original plan was new tips and fix up the outrigger. As to be expected there was a bunch of cracks in the grapple, the boom crack wasn't on the bingo card though. Regardless its all ready to go back to work when the call comes in.
The boom crack received a good prep and as close to 100% pen weld as possible using 9018. It appears the crack spread from a crater crack on a poor weld on one of the hyrdaulic line hold downs so I didn't see a need for extra plating at this point. If in the future this spot gives more issues I would look into splicing in a new piece of top flange to remove the fatigued metal, but I'm not overly concerned with that being a problem.
