The left side boom ear on this log loader suffered a pretty catastrophic failure and the right was cracking as well. The only way to fix this remotely correctly was to cut out the damaged sections and splice in new pieces which meant complete pen welds on plate 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" thick, lots of welding! Everything was nice and straight and the spacing was down to mm. It got line bored after I completed the repair, and the guy who did the line boring said that everything I did was square to the cylinder pins, and the inside faces were square and the right dimensions.
